Tips and tricks - Windshield fixing studs

When I wanted to set up the pins for attaching the cover, I noticed that the holes on the tube windshield were too big. The pins did not hold.

Here is the method I used to fix it.

Tétons

Drill a 5 mm hole diametrically opposed to the original in the tubular frame of the windscreen.

Tétons

Enlarge the hole to 8 mm (only at the rear of the tube).

Tétons

Slide in this hole (thus from the rear) other piece of copper tube of 6/8 to serve as anchors.

Tétons

Screw the stud.

Cut the excess copper tubing close to the tubular frame, and plug the hole in the back of the frame with plaster.

And here is the result.
